Cable-textured knit runs the whole length of this over-the-knee shaft, so the boot sits close at the calf and then settles into soft folds above the ankle once you have walked in it a while. The foot and toe cap are cut from faux suede, which keeps the front of the boot holding its shape while everything above stays flexible. A rounded toe leaves the forefoot alone instead of squeezing it, and a low hidden wedge lifts the heel a little without reading as a heel. Nothing fastens: the stretch in the knit is what gets the boot on, and the shaft stays wherever you push it. A treaded rubber outsole handles cold sidewalks underneath.
