A wide shawl collar runs in one smooth piece from the back of the neck down both front edges, folding over on itself to sit flat across the chest. There is no closure at all, so the cardigan simply hangs open and moves with the body. The fabric is a light french terry with a flat outer face and a soft looped inside, which keeps the weight down while still feeling substantial. Two patch pockets are stitched onto the front at hip height. Sleeves are long and cut with room through the arm, finishing in a plain turned hem.
