Soft faux suede with almost no stiffness in it, which is exactly why this mid-calf shaft collapses into rings of ruching around the ankle instead of standing upright. Press it toward the ankle and it stays; pull it up and it holds there too. The toe is round, the lining is textile all the way through, and the heel is a low internal wedge, so the lift is hidden inside the boot rather than visible from the side. A zipper on the side handles entry. The outsole is thin rubber, which keeps the whole boot light and easy to walk in for long stretches.
