The knit itself is a smooth closed stitch, light in the hand and soft against the skin, so the sweater drapes rather than stands. Sleeves are generous through the upper arm and stay wide most of the way down before meeting a ribbed cuff that stops them sliding over the hand. The same rib finishes the hem at the hip, pulling the fabric in slightly and giving the loose body a defined edge to sit against.
